Overall, the piece is very eye catching. The lava streaming down the characters chest is beautiful, as is the lava dripping off of the rock platform beneath him. The shard of light protruding from his mouth, however, looks as if it's in the distance behind his head. I would recommend not only making it a bit wider, but lower it a little bit, giving it more room to expand and contrast with the downward direction of the platform. The distortion on the rocks beneath the platform is a nice touch, and works to draw our eye to elements that are in focus, however the few rocks that aren't blurred when one is looking at the image closely do distract the viewer. I find myself noticing the little bits of rock that are in focus and I'm thinking "why aren't those at least a little blurred?"
Great piece, though. Really caught my eye when I saw it!
